All last-minute backdated recruitments, promotions, transfers, and payments will be - Mahama's Transition Team


The transition team of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has complained about what it describes as last-minute recruitment and payments being executed by the outgoing Akufo-Addo-led administration.

According to the team, the transition team of the President-elect and that of the outgoing government agreed to have recruitments and payments cleared by both sides before they are implemented.

However, a statement issued and signed by the spokesperson of Mahama’s transition team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, accused the outgoing government of breaching the agreement.

He said in the statement that the outgoing government is backdating payments, approving new recruitments, promotions, and transfers.

He served notice that the new administration, upon assuming office, will reverse all the last-minute recruitments, promotions, transfers, and payments.

  Ho Customs Division of GRA destroys seized goods   The Ho Sector Command of the Customs Division, Ghana Revenue Authority, has destroyed illegally imported goods, which were seized from a trader at Asikumah. The 680 cartons of Vody Vodka energy mix were destroyed by a team from the Ho Municipal Environmental Office and monitored by officials from the Food and Drugs Authority and the National Investigation Bureau. Mr Ernest Annan-Prah, the Sector Commander, told the Ghana News Agency that the products were seized because the owner had no legal authority to import them. Throughout the country, only one person had the right to import such items, he said. The Commander urged individuals to follow the law and refrain from engaging in illegal activities.  He commended the officers for their vigilance and called for more cooperation from the public.
